***JUST over one week away!!!*** Our seasonal art reception is Friday Nov. 15th during Schenectady Art Night @artnightschenectady ! Make sure you stop in and see the beautiful new works of art we have just hung and of course, the whole neighborhood will be OVERFLOWING with local art as well so wear your walkin' shoes! We'll have tons of goodies for you as well, including coffee locally roasted by Mohawk Coffee Company, baked goods, live music & raffles for both MVAS and LNTThe organization we've chosen to represent this time is the Schenectady County Child Advocacy Center. They do awesome and much-needed work protecting and providing resources for children who have been abused, sexually abused, neglected, and trafficked in Schenectady. We are proud to support them by showcasing Schenectady's fine artists and talented local musicians. As always, Mohawk Valley Art Shoppe and Last Nerve Tattoo pledge to donate all of our 30% commission to the charity for all artwork sold, and the rest goes directly to our wonderful local artists. Bio:Julia Durgee is a Niskayuna resident and Sr. Manager, Omnichannel Marketing & Insights at Beech-Nut baby food in Amsterdam, N.Y. She has an B.S. in apparel design from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. She went to Shaker High School and lived in NYC, Orlando, Maine, and finally returned home to the capital region during COVID. She is an accomplished commercial illustrator, impressionist painter and incessant volunteer. She recently won two “Best in Show” awards at Historic Albany Foundation’s 2023 BUILT show and the 2024 Stockade Villagers’ Outdoor Art Show. The organization we've chosen to represent this time is the Northeast Avian Rescue. They do incredible work rescuing and rehabilitating neglected/ surrendered parrots and other exotic birds, and we can't wait to raise some funds for the birds!
Join us for our seasonal art exhibition featuring our amazing local artists! We'll have live music, snacks, and of course, some gorgeous works of art! This charity event to benefit Operation at Ease, is free to the public, and if you decide to purchase original art or prints, we donate ALL of our 30% commission, so it will directly benefit the amazing organization that trains shelter dogs to be therapy dogs for veterans and first responders with PTSD. Last Nerve Tattoo across the hall will be doing tons of raffles discounted bookings in support of Operation at Ease as well. Hope to see you then!!
